Heavy downpours in Toluca and on the western side of the State of Mexico led to the flooding of 2 watercourses in San Mateo Atenco and a harvesting water system in Tollocan Avenue as well as severe waterlogging in Naucalpan and Huixquilucan.

Precipitations were reported in 11 municipalities of the State of Mexico, whilst several floods were reported at Tollocan Avenue in Toluca.

The secretary of Public Works of the State of Mexico informed that Grupo Tlaloc staff have been working on the emergencies since Monday. It was also pointed out that water levels are being monitored in order to deal with the affectations caused by the flood of the San Carlos and San Isidro watercourses in San Mateo Atenco. Also, they monitor the rivers Rio Hondo in Naucalpan and La Coyotera in Huixquilucan.

The secretary also detailed that Works have been being carried out in the reestablishment and correct functioning of the pumping sump PB-8 in Valle de Chalco since last night.

In San Mateo Atenco the Canal San Carlos’ flood started at around 20:05 hrs. And ten minutes after the San Isidro water stream, which caused several waterlogging with a 15 cm depth in Juarez Avenue.

In LasTorres and Tollocan avenues, there weren´t properties affected until now. The harvesting system Tollocan also suffered flood.

In the other hand, on the west side, the motorized staff of Grupo Tlaloc has been executing nocturnal invigilation on the Rio Hondo area in Naucalpan; the same as in La coyotera and Los Olivos in Huixquilucan.

The CAEM (Water Commission of the State of Mexico) informed that this Monday at 19:55 hrs. The energy was restored at the pumping sump PB-8 in the municipality of Valle de Chalco, consequently, the specialized staff of drainage of the state organism began works in order to reduce the water levels in Hemeregildo Galeana, Cuauhtemoc, and Alfredo Del Mazo avenues.

At 8 PM there were 3 more municipalities (11 in total) affected by flood: Nezahualcoyotl, Ixtapaluca, Naucalpan, Tlalnepantla, Valle de Chalco and Huixquilucan in the Valley of Mexico; also San Mateo Atenco, Metepec, Toluca, Joquicingo y Capulhuac in the Valley of Toluca. In Toluca there was a dwelling which was invaded by the flood in its yard.
