A quarter of the women who abort are from the State of Mexico and the parliamentary fraction from the PRD in the state agreed to decriminalize abortion as an expression of freedom and no discrimination to women.
One of the initiatives suggests reforming the article 248 of the state criminal code. Intending to consider abortion as a crime until the 12th week of gestation. The head of the Comisión de Derechos Humanos, Jorge Olvera said that the legal interruption of the pregnancy is necessary for a modern democracy that is appreciated for not discriminating women.
