After ten years of its first appearance, Festiva comes back to the capital to please all publics with the promise of democratize culture and make it accessible to habitants of Toluca’s Valley. With international artists and local talent, they will captivate the audience.
There are more than 250 cultural activities from different disciplines like dance, music, theater, literature and children programs, with forums dedicated especially to each one of them, which will be enjoyed on this Festiva Toluca de San José 2019.
The González Arratia Square will be dedicated to music and will have different artists and different genres, such as San Bernardo Blues Band, Alberto Lescay (Cuba), Laberinto del Caos, Franco López, Habana Rumba, Estudiantina de la UAEMéx, Cafeína Rock, Ravells Rock, Holograma, Minita de Oro, Tumbadora Jazz, Manteca Brava, La Dolorosa, Cucalambé and Son de Tarima.
Literature and classic music will have place on the Capilla Exenta, which was recently renovated. With the presence of the Centro Toluqueño de Escritores, Aitor Cuevas, Eugenia a través de una Bala, dramatized Reading of the text by Alexis Casas Eleno, winner of the Thesis Contest Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz. But also Mauricio Carrera, Genaro Rojas, Kassem Liévanos, Jorge Arzate Salgado, Aurelio Chávez Maya, Poetry Marathon and the poet Saúl Ordóñez, award-winning of the Jaime Sabines International Poetry Price.
The Cuauhtémoc Alameda Park will have dance and music for all tastes. And the presence of Danza Xquenda, the Folk Dance Macuilxóchitl, Nour de Marruecos, Teatro Volar, Sonido San Francisco, Congal Tijuana, Botzanga Ensamble, Dancing Company Xochipilzahuac and a lot more.
The Centro Cultural Toluca will have the presence of the theater and music, with the quintet el Rosal, La Corte de los Bufones, María Fernanda Nemer, Orkvs Rock, Beto Castillo, Ensamble Amerigo, Los Botes Cantan, Cuentrova and Luciana and Radia amongst others.
For the children’s activities, the walkway Constitución has been adapted with the purpose that the youngest at home have first-rate activities. Therefore, they can enjoy Arki, the storyteller, who was nominated to the Emmy for his excellent quality. Also Sueños Mazahuas, Petit Cirko, the Infantile and Juvenile Philharmonic Orchestra of the Estado de México, Alfonso Virchez and his enormous theatric quality and Juan Manuel Corona El Grillo Mayor, with over 35 years of experience leading the radio program Los Grillos Madrugadores. Besides from having rides, which will be on the terrace of the Teatro Morelos.
