The Observatory on the Political Participation of Women in the State of Mexico rises to contribute to the achievement of substantial equality among women and men on the municipal and state politic environment. Besides, from making stronger the mechanisms to prevent, help and punish political gender violence. The head of the Unit of Gender and Eradication of Violence of the Electoral Institute of the State of Mexico, Ángeles Alvarez Montero says.
During the program Behind your vote, of the IEEM, it was mentioned that being a mechanism of coordination and cooperation it makes easier to women, to join spaces where decisions are made, with an approach of human rights and gender perspective. This emerges on 2017 under the initiative of the National Institute of Women, and the National Electoral Institute, and spreads to several states on the country.
