To reduce the effects on the health of young students, the Secretary of Education of the State of Mexico decided to extend the suspension of classes for upper level students from the 34 municipalities in environmental contingency. This means that on Thursday, May 16, public and private schools of all educational levels will be closed in the municipalities located in the Valley of Toluca and Valley of Mexico.
In the Valley of Toluca, higher education institutions located in the municipalities of Almoloya de Juárez, Calimaya, Chapultepec, Lerma, Metepec, Mexicaltzingo, Ocoyoacac, Otzolotepec, Rayon, San Antonio la Isla, San Mateo Atenco, Temoaya, Tenango del Valle, Toluca, Xonacatlán and Zinacantepec will remain without classes.
In the Valley of Mexico, the 18 municipalities that suspend school activities at a higher level are Atizapán de Zaragoza, Coacalco, Cuautitlán, Cuautitlán Izcalli, Chalco, Chimalhuacán, Chicoloapan, Ecatepec, Huixquilucan, Ixtapaluca, La Paz, Naucalpan, Nezahualcóyotl, Nicolás Romero, Tecámac, Tlalnepantla, Tultitlán and Valle de Chalco. In the same way, the school community is asked to remain attentive to the provisions and preventive measures issued by official sources.
