The federal government, led by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, today announced its commitment to the "Spotlight initiative", with the aim of combating violence against women and femicides. This initiative will be carried out as part of a global alliance with the European Union and the United Nations Organization.
11.8 million dollars will be invested, which will go directly to five municipalities of three states, identified as extremely dangerous for women: Naucalpan and Ecatepec (State of Mexico), Ciudad Juárez and Chihuahua (Chihuahua), and Chilpancingo (Guerrero); In addition. The results will be shared with the states of Veracruz, Puebla, Mexico City and Nuevo León.
