About IEEM to citizenship academic works

The Electoral Institute of the State of Mexico (IEEM) makes available to researchers, students and citizens interested in electoral issues and democratic political culture to consult electronically or in person in the Specialized Library the works of its editorial lines.
In order to guarantee the quality of academic works, there is an Editorial Committee of the Electoral Training and Documentation Center made up of IEEM members and external members who are renowned specialists and academics. For the Institute it is of the utmost importance to promote the work of scholars who deepen in the analysis of the particularities of democratic life in our country and in the world.
The four editorial lines are: Legal and Political-Electoral Investigations; Inclusive Electoral Policy; Breviaries of Democratic Political Culture and, Cuadernos de Formación Ciudadana. As well as the Magazine Apuntes Electorales and the Electoral Gazette.
The Legal and Political-Electoral Research Series supports the dissemination of the contributions that scholars give to the political-electoral culture. The last issue of this series is entitled "Arithmetic of political representation: analysis of 31 states" by the authors Omar Esteban Macedonio Maya and Mónica Montaño Reyes.
The editorial line Inclusive Electoral Policy contains works on issues related to vulnerable groups of the population. The latest publication is the book "Women and political participation. Electoral Process 2015-2016 of Aguascalientes ", whose coordinators are Yolanda Franco Durán and Ricardo Alejandro Hernández Ramos.
Democratic Political Culture Compendiums contain research works developed by experts in the field with the aim of providing readers with direct consultation tools on specific topics of democracy, political parties and media. Currently, there is the book "The Second Vuelta Electoral: origins, typology and effects", by Fernando Barrientos del Monte.
The books of Citizen Training are aimed at the general public, so that their language is accessible, but preserving the interest and taking care of an intelligent approach. In number 10, Mara I. Hernández, Fabricio Brodziak and José del Tronco entitled "Political Negotiation in Democracy: ten effective practices" are published.
Meanwhile, the journal Apuntes Electorales contains articles and original essays derived from scientific research. As well as book reviews, which can be approached from a local or international, historical or contemporary, comparative or case-by-case approach.
Some articles of number 60 are: Dimensions and consequences of the consecutive re-election of Orlando Espinosa Santiago, Víctor Manuel Figueras Zanabria and Martha Miranda Muñoz. In turn, Alberto Espejel Espinoza and Mariela Díaz Sandoval write about Violence against women in politics in Mexico: a proposal for analysis from the partisan sides.
The purpose of the Electoral Gazette is to promote the academic and institutional events of the IEEM, as well as the most outstanding activities that are carried out to promote the democratic political culture.
The different publications of the editorial lines can be consulted and downloaded in the Mini-Site of the Electoral Training and Documentation Center, which is located on the website www.ieem.org.mx or physically in the Library that is located at one side of the central building of the Institute, in Toluca, State of Mexico.
