In total 94 firearms, 80 short and 14 long, as well as six grenades and 258 cartridges of various calibers, were withdrawn from circulation in Ecatepec with the exchange program 2019 carried out from May 30 to June 8 in this municipality. Informed the mayor Fernando Vilchis Contreras.
This weekend concluded in Ecatepec said program, through which the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) and the Directorate of Public Safety and Municipal Transit collected 94 firearms, cartridges and grenades.
After being approved by the local council. The program was launched on May 30 at two points, the municipal esplanade of San Cristóbal and the Delegation of Los Arcos of the colonia Granjas Valle de Guadalupe. the collection ended on June 8 and 104 citizens voluntarily surrendered their weapons in exchange for amounts of money established in a tabulator.
