Fernando Mendez, expert conservationist warned that is needed to make the society conscious of the deterioration of the environment, which is found on a critical state on the Valle de Toluca. Due to the flora and fauna of Lerma’s river basin has been increasing and in next generations may be extinct.
On an interview, the professor of the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEMex), pointed out that is necessary to take actions so the ecosystem where we live on this region does not extinguish. As has happened with the flora and fauna that lived near the Lerma River.
The over exploited basin and over polluted
The expert gave this interview after going to the Fifth Forum of the Recovery of the Lerma’s River, made by a regiduría in Toluca.
There, in front of other experts, the speed up worsening that some big ecosystems present as the Lerma’s basins and the very own Nevado de Toluca, whose lagoons present pollutants on its waters, according to studies made by the Tecnológico de Toluca, which are originated from some chemicals that are being used on its lower parts to cultivate papaya.
