Over 50 thousand people celebrate the Grito de Independencia (shout out of independence) peacefully and with no alcohol in Ecatepec

Over 50 thousand people participated on the eight open-air dances made on Ecatepec, celebrating the national holidays. 20 thousand of them reunited on the municipal terrace. The celebration did not registered any casualties as a result of the security operations made by local authorities and the prohibition of selling alcoholic beverages.
The mayor Fernando Vilchis Contreras headed the ceremony of El Grito on the balcony of the municipal president’s office, where, for the first time, he rang the bells and wave the Mexican flag. After that, a mapping on the structure of the public building briefly told the story of the town and right after, the fireworks brightened up and colored the sky, making the attendees admire it.
