We are a few months after the fisrt year of government of what was thought would be a spectacular government with a new generation of mayors emerged from Morena, which seemed irrefutable guarantee of important changes, both in the way of administering municipalities and connecting with people, as well as exercising public resources.
Óver the months, thousands of citizens we were discovering a terrible reality: that while in certain municipalities the change has been significant as in the case of Ecatepec, in others is disappointing and questionable the way in which the mayors have been carrying out their duties, completely removed from principals that brought them to the power.
Toluca and Metepec are the principles examples of the double speech that has been unveiling with a brutal reality for thousands of citizens, of morenista administrations based on agreements and “political pacts” behind of citizens, which led to those mayorships, old-fashioned panistas and with hidden agreements (in turn) with the PRI, but committed to everything, except with popular causes and ordinary citizens.
Already in April or May, there were signs of where the PAN governmet of the capital would go, when Ricardo Moreno was still being ironed in Toluca, the award of millionaire contracts to privatize the electrification service, to a ghost company that In the north of the country, it was denounced for disappearing large sums of money, without providing services. The timely intervention of one of the few authentic morenista rulers in that town hall of the capital (Arturo Chavarría), avoided a fraudulent business from the capital.
No less surprising were the persecutions against taxi drivers, beating of merchants (under false accusations and manufactured from the PAN government of Toluca) or harassment against individuals under the pretext of environmental policies that never stopped before Human Rights. We could also highlight the hiring of relatives of senior officials to embed them in strategic areas; the realization of events to favor whims of tiny but wealthy sectors (car shows) and investments of millions and millions of pesos in spectacular and popular events.
All while the persecution and criminalization of the poorest has continued under this right wing government of Juan Rodolfo.
In Metepec, the situation is no less pathetic. The most popular case is the social struggle of citizens of La Pila, to protect and preserve the only green lung they have and share at least five popular colonies that surround it. The decision to place a National Guard barracks there, was made without consultation of those affected, in the purest Prianist style, and then try maneuvers that no longer go with these times, such as making an adverse and misleading speech against activists, and try to discredit his speech and his arguments totally valid, through deception of public opinion, through means that have been purchased with official publicity. Pathetic. They completely forgot that it was the social sector, which led them to the triumph of López Obrador. If at least they simulated a little better ...
Also in Metepec it has deprived the opacity, the adjudications and the hiring of relatives close to the PRI and the elite groups that control that administration, where the tentacles of former governors and former sheriffs, maintain a tight control.
In both cases, both of Toluca, with Juan Rodolfo Sánchez Gómez and de Metepec, with Gabriela Gamboa, the afair with Governor Alfredo del Mazo Maza, is significant. Perhaps even more between Juan Rodolfo and Del Mazo, since the first evidently sighs for the post that the second will deliver in 2023, and he wants to be there to receive it.
