Deputy Azucena Cisneros Coss called on the Mexican Prosecutor's Office to create an expedited investigation and find the media reporters responsible for the attacks, when they were covering the municipality, as long as there is no penalty, violence against representatives of the media in the state will persist.
Reporter Aaron Tagle and cameraman Jonathan Loyo were attacked on Tuesday, and stripped of their equipment by chauffeurs on Route 05 in Coacalco, when they were making a live broadcast, for the murder of two public transport drivers.
Some 40 alleged drivers surrounded the reporter and later assaulted him, as did the cameraman, who stripped of a monopod, cell phone, motorcycle helmet and even the microphone that the reporter used in the transmission.
According to the television station, after the assault, the reporter Aaron Tagle was injured in the head when he was hit in the back on several occasions, in addition to being injured with a sharp weapon; right-hand injury. They were for retained moments.
The municipal police had to intervene to avoid further attacks on the reporter and the cameraman. Emergency bodies attended to the communicators for their medical attention.
The Human Rights Commission of the State of Mexico (Codhem) reported that the file CODHEM / TOL / APC / 31/2019 was initiated ex officio by the aggression.
Multimedia workers filed complaints at the Office of the Attorney General under numbers ECA / ECA / 00 / MPI / 610/0421/19/11 and ECA / ECA / ECA / 034/334758/19/11.
Deputy Azucena Cisneros warned that as long as there are no sanctions against those responsible for attacks on representatives of the media, they continue to be vulnerable during their daily coverage and attacks against them with increasingly frequent attacks by neighbors, police or officials.
