The State of Mexico was the third entity with the most malicious killings in the country throughout the year and the second with more femicides according to the most recent figures of the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System, which is known yesterday afternoon.
Reflecting on the national reality, where 2019 was the most violent year in which the country is registered -with 35 thousand 588 homicides-, the Mexican entity registered in the year 2 thousand 536 intentional homicides, ranking as the third most violent entity in the country, behind Baja California, with 2,600 homicides and Guanajuato, with 2,775 cases. This is almost seven violent homicides per day in the State of Mexico. March was the month with the most malicious cases, with 243 cases; In contrast to October, with 176 malicious homicides, it was the one that had the least incidence. More than half of these intentional homicides in the entity (1,681 cases) were carried out with a firearm.
On a general level, counting the guilty homicides (and assuming that, both in the State of Mexico, as in the rest of the country, guilty murders will occur when they are actually malicious) and femicides, in the entity 3 were committed 1,559 homicides, the second with the most incidents, only behind Guanajuato, with 4 thousand 512 cases.
