The “Matilde Montoya” Maternal and Child Clinic of the DIF of Ecatepec was built, equipped with state-of-the-art technology that will benefit more than 200,000 people with limited economic resources, a work that required investment 35 million pesos in its construction and almost 50 million pesos in equipment.
"In the middle of the nightmare we built a monument to hope for many people," said Mayor Fernando Vilchis Contreras, who thanked his wife Esmeralda Vallejo Martínez, honorary president of the municipal DIF, for promoting this project for the benefit of women and children from Ecatepec.
Vilchis Contreras said that more than four decades ago the Maternal and Child Clinic of the DIF of Ecatepec was built on a 670 square meter property in the Ejidal Emiliano Zapata neighborhood, on the corner of Calle 20 de Noviembre and via López Portillo, which never worked and was even used at some time as a winery and for other activities.
