At this point, the question is when and how intense will the Covid-19 coronavirus hit every country in the world. Measures taken with more or less intelligence, and displaying the leadership capabilities of each ruler, public health systems around the world will show their qualities, but above all their shortcomings.

In Latin America, the arrival of the pandemic will pose greater challenges than those experienced by other countries with better economic conditions and investment in public health infrastructure.

In Mexico, it is enough to visit any medical unit of the public health institution to verify that even soap and sanitary paper are scarce; there is a lack of trained personnel, beds, devices, medicine and dignified treatment for the patients, who are overcrowding the installations.

Undoubtedly, the virus will reveal how abandoned the health system is in the country; whether this will be an opportunity to improve it remains to be seen, although in light of the desire to kiss the girls, the religious images used as protection and the disdain for the recommendations of healthy distance, the panorama is not very promising.
