Mexico would be participating in the development of a vaccine against the COVID-19 coronavirus, assured the secretary of Foreign Relations, Marcelo Ebrard.
In a morning conference, the official explained that Mexico allocated a million euros for phase one that is already underway in one of the protocols established in scientific research.
These protocols, endorsed by the UN and the European Union, are a global research effort to find a cure for the virus. "Mexico participated in it, we are joining that initiative, we are inviting the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the National Institute of Nutrition and several researchers from various organizations, for example, Tec Salud, based in Monterrey, research centers of universities such as the University of Querétaro, "he said.
He added that Mexico is one of the countries with the greatest participation in the design of the vaccine.
