Morena will be absolute majority in State of Mexico
The Morena’s faction in the parliament of the 60 local legislature will count with 31 deputies -21 elected by majority and 10 by proportional representation- , whilst Partido del Trabajo (PT) and PRI will have 11 legislators each one, but only 1 from PRI was elected by majority.
During the Electoral Institute of State of Mexico’s special meeting for the assignation of proportional representation deputies, the project was presented and approved in the morning. 5 proportional representation deputies were allocated to PAN (7 in total with 2 elected by relative majority) since it won districts 17 from Huixquilucan and 29 from Naucalpan. PRD will count with only 3 deputies. In addition, Partido Encuentro Social (PES) will have a considerable fraction in the State of Mexico’s Congress for the first time with 10 representation deputies allocated by IEEM. With regard to Via Radical, Nueva Alianza and Movimiento Ciudadano there will not be any legislator. Only Partido Verde Ecologista will have 2 representation deputies.
In the main course of the session, PAN and PRD did not agree with the distribution of the 30 proportional representation seats and announce that they will have recourse to the court.
