The capital of the State of Mexico was fitted up and is almost ready for national holidays celebrations, just after that this Thursday staff of the public lighting department placed thousands of lights and 139 decorations with memories of the most important characters of Mexico’s independence.

An advance of 70% is recorded and the works will end this Friday’s night.

The most important streets of the historical center of the capital, such as its avenues and most visited roads, due to their beauty and cultural value, show the ornaments specially prepared by the community to celebrate the 208th anniversary of the beginning of Mexico’s independence.

The 139 most emblematic handcrafted decorations, assembled by workers of the city’s council, do by themselves a tribute to the memory of most relevant Mexico’s historical characters, such as Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez, José María Morelos y Pavón and the Father of the Nation, Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla.

The 139 effigies with the monumental faces of those heroes decorate and light up the streets, such as, the Benito Juárez Avenue, Nicolás Bravo, López Rayón and Sebastián Lerdo de Tejada avenue, in which the palace of government rises and where this September 15th a harangue will take place, remembering the beginning of the 1810 independence.

Those works began in previous weeks and past Thursday, work crews of the Sub-directorate of Public Lighting have installed the Mexican decorations in the González Arratia square, Mártires square, and Ángel María Garibay square, as well as in Cuauhtémoc park or in Alameda Central; Andador Constitución and the Portales “5 de Febrero”, “Madero” and “Reforma”, public spaces where balcony flags of different sizes, tricolor fabrics and banners show off and will light up the city.

Also, in the next days the three State buildings will be illuminated, which will allow the inhabitants and strangers to appreciate the architectural beauty that surrounds the man square of the capital of the State; additionally, the main accesses, Tollocan, Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla Avenue, Paseo Colón and Isidro Fabela will be dressed in the national colors.

The council announced that 1st September, national decoration works in the capital of the State will be completed because last Thursday they achieved 70% of advance.

It will be from September 1st when thousands of environment-friendly LEDs, those who give life to de decorations and save up to 70% of energy versus normal light bulbs, will be totally installed.
