Last September 5th, the local LX legislature was created without the dominance of the PRI party for the first time. Also, it is not under control of the state executive and in the least of three months Governor Del Mazo was thwarted with historical resolutions at the forefront of Morena: the first counterbalance in living memory unfolded in the State of Mexico.

After living a historical journey on July 1st in the state of Mexico by derogating the PRI hegemony and sweeping away the Atlacomulco political group, the 2018-2021 LX legislatures was finally conformed by seven parliamentary groups.

Such fractions were integrated as follows: Morena with 38 deputies; PRI with only 12 and only one of the majority; PT with nine; PAN with five representatives; Partido Encuentro Social (PES) with five; PRD with two and PVEM with two lonely policymakers.

Out of the parliamentary group of Morena, the coordinator is Maurili Hernandez Gonzales, the ‘Strong man’ of the local congress who happens to be a former PRI and PRD politician; from PT, we have Armando Bautista Gomez; from PAN Anuar Roberto Azar; from PES, Carlos lomán Delgado; from PRD, Omar Ortega Alvarez; from PVEM, José Alberto Couttolenc Buentello, and Miguel Sámano Peralta from PRI.

The parliamentarian coordinators integrated the Political Coordination Board (JUCOPO), which was chaired by a left coordinator; Maurilio Hernandez who, within one month before his arrival, anticipated a political agenda that has become an authentic arsenal, an authentic endpoint to excesses and an authentic limelight to exhibit corruption and a Pandora box for the new ways of politics.

The Morena politicians took over immediately, since last September 5th and hadn’t let it go since then.

Heading an activist association for the women´s causes, Azucena Cisneros Coss was elected president for the first ordinary period of sessions. The inhabitants of the States of Mexico had met a Congress that goes against the will of the executive and that has –literally- opened the doors of the legislative building to the citizenship of the State and has launched initiatives and resolutions that keep thwarting the other powers of the state.

Thus, in the least than three months, the Morena politics supported more the PES party than the betrayal PT, has achieved several accomplishments for the first time that in any other legislative period. They rejected the judgment of a public account for the first time (2017); they send an ultimatum to the holder of the OSFEM due to overlapping and avoid punishing deviations of audits. They abrogated the ISSEMYM law which was approved against the will of the citizens. They have demanded an investigation because of corruption to the department of justice and they have even called corrupt and inept the high functionaries of the government of the state during statements that didn’t follow the right procedures.

Other things they have done for the first time were ‘Open forums’ of discussion in order to involve more people in topics such as femicides, disappearances, the ISSEMYM law and the Texcoco Airport. Also, they put an end to the excessive expenses and privileges of politics; they rejected the PAC, the life insurances and the Medical insurances; the beginning bonus of 200 thousand MXN And another 20 thousand MXN bonus for computer equipment, as well as the allocation of new vehicles.

It appears that, for the first time, the inhabitants of the state of Mexico have authentic deputies.
