The jury of the Mexican drug lord found him guilty of ten charges, several American criminal code violations thus convicting him to life imprisonment which is something that his lawyers will appeal to.
Among the charges, we can stand out his continuous criminal activity, as well as international conspiration in order to produce and distribute cocaine, meth and marijuana. Also, the use of weapons and money laundering.
The twelve members of the jury worked a total of 36 hours throughout six days to deliberate in almost four months of trial.
The jury demanded to be provided with copies of the testimonies and after the past week break, they got to a final decision.
The Mexican drug lord refused to testify his version and could face life imprisonment; although, it is still possible for his lawyers to appeal back.
