Legislature approves removal of auditor from OSFEM

With the unanimous vote of 75 deputies from all the parliamentary factions, the 60th local legislature approved the initiation of the removal procedure of the Superior Auditor of the Supreme Audit Institution of the State of Mexico (OSFEM), Fernando Baz Ferreira, for its omissions and partial action in the review of the 2017 Public Account, and agreed to begin the restructuring of the body.
After the review of the 2017 Public Account of the Government of the State of Mexico, Auxiliary Bodies and Autonomous Bodies of the State of Mexico, the OSFEM Surveillance Commission decided that there are numerous audits to public entities without any type of compensatory procedure.
Among the irregularities detected by the commission include that the Health Institute of the State of Mexico (ISEM) has more than 10 billion pesos of debts, transfers of resources that contravene the law, differences in budget expansions by 3 thousand 719 million 324 thousand 600 pesos and liabilities for 2 thousand 565 million pesos.
