CODHEM avoids investigating the "torture" in the death of the inmates of Chiconautla

Without listening to the relatives of the inmates who died violently inside the prison of Chiconautla, Ecatepec; without any forensic expert, about the injuries presented by the bodies, and only based on the statements of a custodian, but not of the inmates, the Human Rights Commission of the State of Mexico (CODHEM), was quick to issue a Recommendation for the Mexican Authorities, for the two deaths of inmates in that penitentiary, but avoiding dictating the punishment.

The Recommendation, in summary, attributes the two violent deaths to overcrowding in prisons and suggests that they were the result of "interpersonal problems" caused by the same overcrowding, but without an exhaustive investigation with relatives, who denounced the torture and mistreatment. Continue against their inmates, and also without addressing complaints posted on social networks, about torture, corruption, extortion and constant excesses by custodians, through anonymous testimonies that could filter social networks from the center.

It should be remembered that on Tuesday, very early, the Secretary of Security issued a statement about the death of a prisoner who "had committed suicide", without giving his name; Hours later, through social networks, a video of the inmate's mother was transmitted, in which he confronted the prison guards and assured that the body of his son, who had just received, presented blows and signals of torture.

In spite of the above, the Recommendation initiated by CODHEM does not include this testimony from the mother or any other family member who, as seen in the video, denounces the abuse and even reports three deaths in recent weeks, all supposedly committed by the custodians.

Recommendation No. 4, issued in this case by the CODHEM, was announced in less than 24 hours and the reaction of the victim's mother began to spread in social networks, in what appears to be a coordinated action among government agencies to stop the scandal.

This Recommendation includes not only the recent case of last Monday but also one that occurred last April, related to an inmate who remained "disappeared" inside the prison and then appeared with signs of violent death.

In this case, the CODHEM Recommendation, which is now directed by the former Rector of UAEMex, Jorge Olvera, involved in the master scam, brings together both cases without going into the in-depth study of any, which would involve interviews with other inmates..., to protect them. their identity as is usual in these cases in cases such as the CNDH-, with relatives of the victims and relatives of other inmates; or make revisions to medical experts to determine if there was torture or not, which apparently was avoided at any time.

The recommendation issued is aimed at asking collateral victims "family" to give them compensation and psychological and thanatological support; It also requests that the respective investigation continues before the FGJEM.
