Elements of the Municipal Police of Ecatepec and of the Special Prosecutor's Office in Crimes Committed against Transportation, arrested a subject for his probable responsibility in the crime of robbery with violence in the Miguel Hidalgo neighborhood. Authorities said it could be related to an apparent kidnapping attempt in the Melchor Múzquiz neighborhood, which was videotaped and went viral on social media in the past few days.
According to the Directorate of Public Security and Municipal Transit, during the implementation of the Ecatepec Secure Operative, elements of the 5th Public Safety Region received a request for help from a woman, who assured that she had been stripped of her belongings on a Taxi, same that circulated meters later.
Immediately, the police caught up with him and arrested a 28-year-old man who had stripped the passenger of his belongings with a knife. Presumably, the implicated one used the taxi Atos model, white color, to transfer its victims and once the crime consummated flee on board the unit. The physical constitution of the detainee is very similar to that of one of the subjects that appear in the viral video, where two individuals got out of a vehicle with weapons to go to a young woman who reacts and manages to flee.
