With the police helping and during operations made at midnight, the municipal government, the squares “Carlos Gomez” and “Amador Lopez” were colosed. They were located on the vicinity of the Alameda Central, they closed them saying that they were under control of a social organization.
During a statement, it wasa informed at noon of the operations, oh which is pointed out that the elements of the police made this operation and they managed to take over the business.
The municipal government informes that the putting out, was organized by the mayor, a former member of PAN, Juan Rodolfo Sanchez Gomez. Consistent on the commitment he holds on Toluca’s City Hall, to recover all public spaces to the citizenship.
The municipal government detailed that both squares were illegally assigned since 2005, through an alleged verbal agreement between the administration on that period and the organization called “Union Cuauhtemoc Alameda Central”.
The city hall informed that during the operations, there were some personal of the Dirección General de Gobierno y de Derechos Humanos apart from the municipal DIF, public services and civil protection, so there were personal of the Desarrollo Económico y Seguridad Pública. Nevertheless, the tenants that were there at noon trying to recover their belongings, said that there were police excesses, and actually, it is not that they didn’t had the permissions, but that Juan Rodolfo’s government didn’t wanted to give them the annual renovation.
Similarly, they accused the mayor for forcing their rights, because there are spaces they got a decade ago, at least. And, their human right to work, is being ran over.
They informed they will go to organizations which protect human rights.
This is, at least the 3rd case of evacuation of social groups that the administration working, does in less than six months. The first, was related with ambulant workers, near the Mercado Juarez and the bus terminal, the second was a violent evacuation of a permanent protest before Easter Week. Who were sleeping on the Plaza Civica, the third, related to an excess of force, was the repression of taxi drivers who tried to protect a mate near CU, and the operation this Tuesday.
