Around 100 thousand trees will be planted this year in ridges and green areas of Ecatepec in the permanent reforestation campaign undertaken by the municipal government. Whose main objectives are to contribute to the care of the environment and beautify the community.
In the framework of the commemoration of the World Environment Day. Municipal authorities and settlers planted more than 450 trees in a kilometer of Manuel Ávila Camacho avenue, colony Melchor Múzquiz.
The municipal president of Ecatepec, Fernando Vilchis Contreras, supervised the beginning of the reforestation. He assured that the care of the environment is one of the priorities of the current local administration.
Municipal authorities reported that this day is part of the reforestation program with the goal of planting about 100,000 trees by 2019.
Martín Arturo Aguilar Vega, head of the Arbolado Department of Ecatepec, announced that after carrying out an evaluation of the place they decided to place endemic and landscape types, such as Italian Cypress, Ficus, Indian Laurel and Goat's Foot, which have an age between three and four years, with a height of more than one meter.
