The Electoral Institute of the State of Mexico (IEEM), over 24 years of encouraging democratic political culture, has been concerned with providing spaces aimed at citizens, as well as students, researchers and researchers, who wish to publish or consult works specialized in the different editorial lines, or where appropriate, study a postgraduate course and even attend a course, seminar or workshop.
Thus, in order to promote the practice of democratic values among the population, in 1997 what was known as the Electoral Information Center (CIE), began with the collection of copies of the Library and with it, the opening to publish unpublished texts in an electoral matter
For its part, in 2007 the Electoral Training Center (CFE) was created, with the intention of strengthening the construction of citizenship.
A year later, the CIE and CFE merge, to give rise to what is now known as the Electoral Training and Documentation Center (CFDE), and, shortly afterward, the Recognition of Official Validity of Studies (RVOE) is achieved. , which guarantees the postgraduate studies that are offered every year, being the Master in Electoral Law, the first to obtain it and later, the Master in Electoral Administration, as well as that of the Specialty in Electoral Procedural Law.
Meanwhile, its editorial program has managed to consolidate its editorial lines and integrated into its structure an Editorial Committee, made up of specialists in topics for the purpose of publications, with the aim of guaranteeing the quality of the works that are published in the Institute.
For example, during 2019, the magazine Apuntes Electorales added approximately 92 thousand 644 visits and had more than 2,586 downloads, which shows the interest of citizens to publish and learn about electoral law, political parties, minority groups, among others.
Thus, from 2008 to date, more than 518 thousand copies of his work specialized in democratic life, has been distributed free of charge in forums as diverse as international book fairs in Guadalajara, the Mining Palace, Zócalo from Mexico City and the State of Mexico.
The books are also available free of charge at the Institute Library located next to the central building, with Paseo Tollocan number 944, Santa Ana Tlapaltitlán neighborhood, Toluca State of Mexico and for download in electronic format at www.ieem .org.mx / cefode / home.html, whose specialized collection has just over 26 thousand copies and more than 10 thousand titles.
Likewise, this Training Center has an international endorsement by having the ISO 9001: 2015 standard by the British Standards Institution (BSI), which allows the continuous improvement of its internal processes, mainly services.
