IEEM GIVES COURSES ABOUT INDEPENDENT CANDIDATES

Prior to the start of the 2020-2021 Electoral Process and with the objective that the Mexican citizens know one of their political-electoral rights, which is to be voted in the form of independent candidacy, the staff of the Electoral Institute of the State of Mexico (IEEM ) will teach courses on this topic.
The courses that will be taught by the staff of the Directorate of Political Parties of the IEEM throughout the year, in the different regions of the entity, aim to encourage citizen participation and the exercise of political-electoral rights. In this sense, the first event will take place this Friday, March 13 at 11:00 at the University of Ixtlahuaca CUI, with address: Ixtlahuaca-Jiquipilco highway, km 1.
In the event, aimed at Mexican citizens, it will be widely explained that citizens have the right to request their registration as independent candidates to occupy the position of Deputy by the principle of relative majority and members of the City Councils.
In the same way, they will know the regulations that regulate the procedure for registering these candidacies, the rights, and obligations related to matters of access to media, inspection, propaganda, and accreditation of representatives.
The stages of the process of selection of the independent candidacy will be mentioned, such as the publication of the call, which indicates the positions of popular election to which they can aspire, the eligibility requirements and the required supporting documentation, among others.
Regarding the acts prior to registration, it will be specified that citizens who intend to apply for their candidacy under this modality must submit their statement of intent to the Institute, the creation of a civil association, their legal representative and the person in charge of the administration of resources.
While the stage of obtaining citizen support, refers to the period of collection of a certain percentage of support, depending on the position of the popular election in question, which will be verified by the electoral body.
Subsequently, applicants for the independent candidacy may request the respective Councils to register formulas or forms and, where appropriate, they will be registered.
Attendees who register for the events with opportunity, arrive on time and accredit Mexican citizenship, proof of participation will be given.
