The Secretaria General de Gobierno, through Protección Civil del Estado de México, told that after the explosion that was registered at the volcano, this Monday’s night, the Volcano traffic light alert system is still on yellow phase two. The reason why it is important to be alert of the reports made by the Cenapred, to respect the distance of 7 and a half miles (12 kilometres), and to follow the authorities’ recommendations on any eventualities that may occur on the next few hours.
Luis Felipe Puente Espinosa, who is the general coordinator of the Protección Civil del Estado de México told that even though the explosion was showy, the alert stays on phase two. And it is necessary to ask the inhabitants to stay calm because it does not represent any considerable change that may alert the population of the towns near the volcano.
