With the promise of creating the First Unit of Attention to Victims of Violence, the municipal president of Ecatepec, Fernando Vilchis Contreras called for a joint commitment to the people of the Third Age to promote from the town hall the regulation to prevent and punish the abuse against this sector of society.
In the company of his wife, the president of the DIF Esmeralda Vallejo, and the delegate of the federal government Luis Valdepeña, the mayor launched a tough message during his speech in the forum "Awareness and prevention of violence, abuse and abuse towards the elderly", held at the Las Americas Cultural and Sports Center.

Vilchis Contreras committed that this Victim Assistance Unit will become an active player to visit the schools of the municipality, since the classrooms are also another important front from which to attack domestic violence.
He thanked the support of the President of the Republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, for the grandparents and youth of Ecatepec: "With the recent distribution of the 'Benito Juárez' scholarships, our students will also obtain the necessary values to end the violence in the homes ".
He also instructed the authorities of the municipal DIF to come to the rescue of all spaces of the elderly who were closed in the municipality. So that once recovered they will generate workshops that give them the opportunity to integrate them into society and a working life, to who so require it.
When recalling the upcoming visit that the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, is scheduled to hold in Ecatepec on Tuesday, June 25, Fernando Vilchis pledged that senior citizens will have a preferential place in the event.
